The drugs that police say Ronald Schroeder used to subdue Seikya Jones were found alongside her lifeless body, stuffed into a suitcase and left in the woods.
Schroeder, 31, of New York, has been charged in connection to the alleged Long Island suitcase murder.
He was due to appear in arraignment court with his attorney on Saturday, but the court was informed the suspect was sick and waived his right to appear in person.
The judge decided no bail or bond would be issued to Schroeder as he faces multiple charges, including Concealment of a Human Corpse.
The details surrounding the death of Seikya Jones', 31, are still under investigation; however, it was revealed that Schroeder allegedly used date rape drugs on the victim and bound her wrists and ankles.
Jones was found in the fetal position, and police had recovered bungee cords, according to FOX5.
Investigators said the victim was experiencing homelessness at the time of the murder and had been reported missing on August 16.
Suffolk County Police reported the discovery of her body inside a suitcase in a wooded area in Huntington on September 3.
Jones' vigil was held Friday evening in Central Islip.
"My daughter is going to get justice," Jones' mother said.
"She was the life of the party, always smiling. Every time everyone looked at her, she had that big, bright smile on her face," added another woman.
Schroeder is set to be back in court on September 12.
