Cincinnati police launch homicide probe after pulling two bodies from Ohio River less than day apart: 'It's pretty scary'

A homicide investigation is underway and residents of Cincinatti are left feeling uneasy after two bodies were pulled out of the Ohio river less than a day apart, according to a report.

On Saturday morning, the Boone County Water Rescue team responded to a call for a body in the water near the Brent Spence bridge in downtown Cincinnati. Fire personnel and the coroner's office also responded, according to the Cininatti Inquirer.

The night before at approximately 8:10 p.m., police discovered another body in the Ohio river near the Taylor-southgate bridge, about a mile away.

The body discovered Saturday morning is being investigated as a homicide, according to WLWT.

At this time, police have not said whether they believe the deaths are related, the outlet reported. The identities of the bodies have not been released.

"As a female, it's pretty scary. I mean, you want to be safe when you're walking around and you want to feel like your environment is safe," Laiya Scheffer, who lives near where the bodies were found, told WLWT on Saturday. ""So it's pretty, pretty frightening."
