Serial Child Rape, Accused Handyman Faces New Sexual Assault Charges

A handyman from Bucks County who is accused of child rape dating back to the 1970s is now facing additional charges involving a new victim. The handyman had previously sexually assaulted five children.

William Charles Thomas of Morrisville was arrested only last month, according to Philly. Authorities revealed disturbing details of his sexual assault involving five children, such as collecting victims' clothing as trophies and "explicitly described sexually assaulting" drawings of the crimes on plywood that he used in renovating trailer homes.

The Bucks County District Attorneys Office said on Monday that the 58-year-old man was already charged with dozens of crimes. His additional counts of charges include incest, child rape, child sex abuse, aggravated indecent assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and other serious offenses, according to court documents.

The newest victim told investigators that Thomas showed her pornography, exposed himself explicitly to her and even watched her while she showered and dressed, all when she was a child in the 1990s. When she was a teenager, Thomas and the victim smoked marijuana together, including one instance in which the victim became incapacitated and Thomas would begin caressing her.

Thomas' sexual assault investigation began in November, following a report that Falls Township police received over explicit writings and sexual graphic discovered on plywood at the Midway Village Trailer Park. According to WFMZ News, this is where Thomas resided, alongside working as a renovator. It led to a search of Thomas' trailer, where police found child pornography and writings documenting his alleged assaults on children, dating back to the 1970s.

According to an interview with investigators, Thomas admittedly committed sexual assault involving minors that included relatives and children he was babysitting. Thomas had been slated to appear in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing, but has waived that hearing, officials said.
