Productivity Tips For Work And Life, ABA Techshow’s ‘60 In 60’ Closing Session

By

The popular ABA Techshow closing session, "60 in 60", has reverted back to the "60 Tips in 60 Minutes" format for this year. The session provided tips to improve productivity at work and in personal life.

The session took place at the Hilton Chicago in mid-March with a panel consisting of top industry leaders in the legal sphere who gave productivity tips for the session. One tip was to use Duda Mobile as a way to build mobile-optimized websites, according to Rochelle Washington, senior staff attorney at the District of Columbia Bar. "Most people are looking at your websites on mobile devices, and they'll move right along if they have to swipe across the screen to see your contact info," said Washington.

Another panelist who presented the productivity tips was Deborah Savadra, the editor and chief blogger at Legal Office Guru, according to ABA Journal. She recommended lawyers to generate their time records automatically based on what they do on their computers, using passive timekeeping applications such as Chrometa, RescueTime, Aderant, or Smart Time.

The panelists also recommended outsourcing services that manage workflows and some "life hacks" to help people save time in their daily routine. Service providers like Shyp will bring people over to help mail a package while TaskRabbit allows firms to outsource jobs to people within the neighborhood, such as assembling furniture and even cleaning the house.

Charlie, is another high-recommended tool that travels through hundreds of sources to give information about a person before having a meeting or a speaking engagement with them. "I like to be prepared before a meeting, I like to know who I'm talking to," said Adam Camras, CEO of Legal Talk Network.

Meanwhile, CEO of Clio, Jack Newton, recommended TripIt, an app for travelers that automatically builds an itinerary by going through emails and pulling out reservations and confirmation numbers amongst other details. "It has saved me hundreds of hours over the years," Newton said. The full list of the tips is available here.
