Legal practice automation software Abacus introduce the new product, the Abacus Payment Exchange. The payment exchange is an integrated payment processing for lawyers and legal profession.
Abacus Payment Exchange (APX) provides a secure payment processing from credit card and e-check, as reviewed by the lawyer and law firm media consultant Robert J. Ambrogi. Abacus is the world leader in legal practice automation software that serve hundreds of thousand lawyers in the United States and the world.
One key feature in the APX is its integration with the other products and services from Abacus Data Systems. APX is the contender for another third party payment processing system LawPay, which has been the only legal payment processing system available.
The payment processing system from Abacus offers more interesting feature than its competitor LawPay, which has been managing the payment processing or legal profession for decades. In term of processing fee, APX provides flat rate charge of 3 percent for credit card payment, and zero charge for e-check. It also does not charge monthly subscription fee to its customers.
Abacus Data System is the parent company which combined two leading case management systems AbacusLaw and Amicus Attorney after the acquisition of Ontario-based company AmicusAttorney in May last year. The acquisition of AmicusAttorney was reported by Market Wired.
Following the acquisition, AbacusLaw, which was headquartered in San Diego opened a new headquarter in La Jolla, California. With the additional system from AmicusAttorney, Abacus Data System has one of the most integrated legal practice management system.
The integration of the systems now become more convenient for its customers with the new Abacus Payment Exchange. The payment processing is able to combine all legal service which uses all Abacus' products, ranging from AbacusLaw, Amicus Attorney, Amicus Online and Abacus Private Cloud into an integrated payment processing. APX also promises to be able to settle a credit card payment within 24 hours.
