Stars And Predators Poke Fun At NBA Twitter Memo, Kings Respond

By

The NBA has officially put an end to players and teams from having twitter fights by releasing a memo. Now teams from other leagues are joining in on the fun.

The Dallas Stars and the Nashville Predators who are both from the NHL engaged in a Twitter fight that also pokes fun on NBA's public memo according to SBnation.com. Dallas first tweeted a positive message before retracting to a more hostile note towards their eventual matchup with the Nashville Predators.

The Stars first said both teams should have fun and have a friendly game before changing their statement wishing the Predators to lose while also recognizing that they were in the wrong league. This is clearly a response to the NBA's friendlier memo on twitter.

Meanwhile the Nashville Predators responded by saying that they didn't like the Dallas Stars before ending it with "Go sports!" The two teams couldn't resist jabbing each other even if the fight was aimed more at the NBA.

Unfortunately, Dallas lost the game against Nashville which quickly drew a humorous response from the Sacramento Kings. The NBA team tweeted that the Dallas Stars took an L on Twitter and on the ice.

The NBA's memo of prohibiting Twitter fights between teams and players was the result of a recent feud. Portland Blazer's C.J. McCollum and Memphis Grizzlies' Chandler Parsons engaged in a Twitter fight which started from a tweet from the Portland's Twitter account according to nesn.com.

The Portland Blazers apologized for the fight afterwards saying that they give strict guidelines to their team's social media staff. The team also said that it wasn't their intention to have a full blown twitter fight among player. The NBA clearly didn't the altercation lightly as it resulted in the memo.

NBA teams on the other hand had their own take for the memo. The Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings used Twitter and became friends at the course of their game according to sacbee.com.
