'The Blacklist' Season 4 Spoilers: Tom Investigates His Past

By

In the upcoming episode of "The Blacklist", Tom (Ryan Eggold) will seek illumination on his past. The series' promo reveals that Tom will learn of an unexpected event that will push him to investigate his past in the episode titled "Isabella Stone".

In the previous "The Blacklist" episodes, Tom discovered that Susan Hargrave (Famke Janssen) was his mother, while he was on an undercover mission. He was abducted when he was 3 years old and never met his parents since, not until he accidentally encountered the owner of Halcyon Aegis. Susan and her husband were on Red's (James Spader) blacklist due to their private military intelligence firm.

In the latest promo teaser released on YouTube, Liz (Megan Boone) tells her husband, Tom about a plane crash and that his father was reportedly one of the passengers. As Tom seeks Red to ask questions about his family, Red tells him that there it is unnecessary for him to dig into things. It seems like a whole lot of truth is being hid from Tom, since it was previously exposed that Red knew the truth about Susan.

"The Blacklist" becomes more emotionally overwhelming as Tom and Susan's upcoming reunion will be filled with tension and pain. Janssen told Entertainment Weekly that her character will get intensely emotional as she learns that Tom is her son.

She explained that her character would feel betrayed, considering the fact that he came in undercover, worked for her, and didn't tell her that he was his son. "As much as there would be excitement she found her son, there would be some pain, hurt and confusion about why that was done the way it was done," Janssen told EW. The 4th season of "The Blacklist" airs on Thursdays at 10 pm EST on NBC.
