Overwatch just released a new update that is now live on the Public Testing Realm. Gamers can expect a lot of changes for character changes, new modes and a more robust custom game mode.
One of the most awaited modes for Overwatch was the Capture the Rooster, the game's own version of capture the flag. The mode was first introduced as part of last month's Chinese New Year event which featured limited time game modes according to Polygon.
Overwatch's new update will now change that and make capture the flag a permanent fixture to the Arcade. Moreover, new maps will be included for the mode including Nepal, Lijiang Tower, Ilios and oasis. That's a total of 12 maps to play when creating a custom capture the flag game.
A server browser will also be added on Overwatch which will let players create their own unique experience and share them to everyone. The Server Browser is an extension of the Custom Game mode where players can adjust the settings on maps, modes and heroes to their liking.
Everything from cooldown reduction to projectile speed can be adjusted. Once a player is happy with the settings, the player can then launch the game and can invite anyone with a friend or invite only option or as a public game where absolutely anyone can join. This adds a create your own Overwatch game that can test the player's creativity.
Besides that, heroes will also be getting changes. During the pre-launch beta, Bastion has been the bane of every Overwatch player. But now as the players progress, everyone has learned how to counter the once unstoppable hero. So a change to Bastion would help rebalance the hero.
Changes for bastion include 35 percent less damage during Sentry and Tank mode. Sentry mode also has reduced deploy time with a 50 percent higher bullet spread but headshots are disabled according to gamingbolt.com.
Other heroes getting changes are Ana, D.Va, Mei, Mercy, Sombra and more. For a full list of patch notes as well as instructions on how to participate the testing, visit playoverwatch.com.
