The 2011 "Green Lantern" movie starring Ryan Reynolds was a box office bust but that is not stopping the DCEU from bringing one of their most iconic super heroes back onto the big screen. In their most recent films, particularly "Batman v Superman", a few members of the Justice League were revealed. Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg are set to compose the initial members of the League. That is why it would only be right to include and introduce Green Lantern back into the DCEU.
A solo movie, entitled "The Green Lantern Corps", will hopefully be the way DCEU does just that. A proper movie that will, if all goes well, introduce the Green Lantern characters into the DCEU and redeem their initial movie adaptation. And while there is not official statement as to who will play the characters in the movie, fans have taken to the internet to express who they feel would be right for the roles.
There are quite a few Green Lanterns as they are intergalactic peacekeepers entasked by being called the Guardians to protect the known universe. The universe is broken down unto 3,600 different sectors with a Green Lantern assigned to protect each one as per DC Wikia. However, there are a few, more well-known members of the Corps.
According to Comicbook.com, James Marsden would be a good choice to play Hal Jordan. Jordan is probably the most famous Green Lantern and the one who was portrayed by Ryan Reynolds in 2011. Marsden's experience playing superheroes in the movies, along with his comedic and dramatic skills would be a good match for the character of Hal Jordan.
Another fan favorite to play Hal Jordan is "Hawii Five-O" reboot star, Alex O'Loughlin as his character in the series bares some similarities to the Green Lantern. Idris Elba and Common are two fan favourites to play the role of John Stewart. While Michael Rosenbaum, Lex Luthor from the "Smallville" series, is a fan choice to play Guy Gardner as per Movie Pilot.
Other characters include Sinestro, the former Green Lantern who turned evil and founded the Yellow Lantern Corps. Fans want to see "Fast and Furious 6" antagonist, Luke Evans, play this role. While Carol Farris, who is the love interest of Hal Jordan and who becomes Star Sapphire is a good role for Nina Dobrev according to Movie News Guide. There is still a long way to go before the movie is released as it is set to be shown in cinemas in 2020, but that doesn't stop fans from trying to get the actors they feel would be a good fit cast for the movie.
