Everybody's favorite pirate will soon be back in the big screen.
Johnny Depp and the rest of the cast of the Pirates of the Caribbean is set to return on July 7, 2017. The fifth installment in the movie franchise is entitled "Dead Men Tell No Tale." In the latest movie, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) will find himself in deep trouble.
In a synopsis that appears in Disney Wikia, the fifth movie in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise will have Captain Jack Sparrow experiencing misfortune after deadly ghost pirates led by his nemesis Captain Salazar escaped from the Devil's Triangle. To turn his fortune around, Sparrow must seek out the Trident of Poseidon, an artifact that allows the possessor to have control of the seas.
Aside from the synopsis of the movie, information about the other cast members were revealed. To date, only Johnny Depp, Kevin McNally, Geoffrey Rush, and Jack The Monkey are the confirmed members who will return for the movie. Orlando Bloom, who plays Will Turner, in the previous installments is unsure of coming back. In an interview, Bloom revealed that "Dead Men Tell No Tale" will be a soft reboot of the previous installments.As reported in The Guardian, former Beatles star Paul McCartney will be joining the cast in a cameo role.
Rumor has it that "Dead Men Tell No Tale" will be Johnny Depp's last movie for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Future installments will have Henry Turner (Brenton Thwaites) in the lead role. In the fifth installment, the storyline will have him either saving Sparrow or increasing his liability. Keira Knightley also ruled out a return to the movie.
IMDB said that Pirates of the Caribbean is the 12th highest grossing franchise in history. "Dead Men Tall No Tale" will be released six years after the previous movie, making it the largest gap between films of the franchise. This will also be the second film to be shot digitally with the first one being Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, produfction of the film started in February 2015 but was delayed due to an injury sustained by Depp.
