Mick Foley To Undergo Hip Surgery, Take A Break From GM Duties

WWE legend Mick Foley made a career by constantly sacrificing his body in his matches. Now retired and at the age of 51, the former Hardcore Champion is now feeling the effects of a grueling career. Fortunately, Mick Foley is now scheduled for a hip replacement surgery.

It's been known that Mick Foley, the WWE Raw General Manager, has been needing hip surgery. But the former wrestler does not have health insurance to cover the expenses.

But according to wrestling inc, Foley got his insurance back and is now cleared for the surgery. His right hip will be replaced but only when he gets a break from his stint as General Manger. So expect Mick Foley to have surgery when his story in the WWE will cause him to miss some time.

Foley announced the news via a lengthy Facebook post. He also added that he will not be ablt to fly for six weeks after the surgery due to a potential blood clot which can be fatal. The good news though is that the General Manager position isn't considered a long term job because as history shows, the job switches as often as trends do.

The wrestler added the he considers himself lucky as doctors were telling him that he would be in a wheelchair by 50. Foley is 51 and while he may not be sitting at a wheelchair, he still is experiencing some lingering injuries coming from his career. While practicing Yoga and losing 100 pounds helped him with his injuries Foley was still having a hard time moving around.

Foley did add that he will still be making an appearance for his scheduled bookings. He will be attending the Pensacola Comic Con on Feb 17-19 according to his post of Facebook.

Mick Foley for his death defying stunts including dropping from the top of a steel cage twice in one match in a match with the Undertaker. It certainly is good news that he is doing fine and going through surgery after retiring from the sport.
