Brock Lesnar To Face Kevin Owens For WWE Title, Potential Match Up Between Goldberg, Kurt Angle

By

Brock Lesnar is without a doubt one of the biggest WWE superstars today. But the former UFC champion might become more popular when he wins his next match on Mar 12 in Madison Square Garden.

Wrestlinginc reports that Brock Lesnar will be facing Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship. But since this is a SmackDown show, the match will be labelled as a special attraction match.

But there is a possibility that Kevin Owens will not be defending his title against Brock Lesnar, since he is rumored to be defending it first on WWE Fastlane on Mar 5. But don't count on it since Lesnar is a semi part time worker for the WWE, the company wouldn't miss out on the chance for a much bigger match for Lesnar.

Meanwhile other matches for the Mar 12 include 3 matches with titles on the line besides the WWE Universal Championship with Lesnar. The SmackDown event promises to be pay-per-view quality with multiple titles to be challenged.

Besides the title match with Lesnar, John Cena will battle Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship. Next will be a triple treat match of Dean Ambrose, Baron Corbin and The Miz for the WWE Intercontinental Champioship. Lastly WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship will on the line with American Alpha vs The Usos.

Other matches include Apollo Crews vs Dolph Ziggler. As well as a 4-way tag team Divas match between Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Naomi and Tamina vs Alexa Bliss, Mickie James, Natalya and Carmella. Both of these mathes will take place before Lesnar's match which is the co-main event.

What's notable about the matches is the absence of Goldberg in the fight card. Both Lesnar and Goldberg go way back in WrestleMania only to renew their rivalry last year.

If Brock Lesnar wins his title match against Kevin Owens, it could potentially set up a WWE Universal Championship match against Goldberg on WrestleMania 33. Goldberg could once again be a WWE champion.

In other news, news.com.au reports that Brock Lesnar was secretly involved in a pre-show fight with Kurt Angle in 2003. Angle is now with the WWE and could also mean a potential match up between the former rivals.
