UFC Fight Night 104 Fighter Removed From Houston Card Due To USADA Violation

By

UFC Fight Night 104 fighter Justin Ledet was removed from the preliminary card just days before the event in Houston.

Heavyweight fight between Justin Ledet Dmitriy Sosnovskiy has been called off due to a potential USADA violation. According to MMAJunkie, the UFC has not given any information on whether or not Ledet will be suspended.

There's no information on what banned substance that Ledet tested positive for, either. The UFC did however, mention that a "full fair legal review process" will be given to their fighters before they get any sanctions.

UFC's statement also mentioned that an out-of-competition sample from Ledet was the cause of the violation. Furthermore, it stated that more information will be provided to the public "at the appropriate time."

"El Blanco" Ledet is an undefeated heavyweight prospect with most of his wins coming by way of stoppages. Ledet won both of his UFC appearances including a rear-naked choke submission win against Mark Godbeer in UFC Fight Night 99.

Before the USADA violation, Ledet was part of a stacked card in Houston. UFC Fight Night 104 features featherweight stand-outs Dennis "Menace" Bermudez and "Korean Zombie" Chan Sung Jung take center stage in the cards main event.

Although this isn't the first time that the UFC Fight Night Houston card was revised. The same source mentioned that a welterweight bout between Alex Morono and Sheldon Wescott was changed as well.

Since Wescott was forced out of the competition, undefeated Niko Price volunteered to step in and fight Alex Morono instead. Other fights on the card include a strawweight bout between Angela "Overkill" Hill and Jessica Andrade.

Hill chose to spice up title conversations by stating that the current strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk is an "easier" opponent to fight than her current opponent, according to MMAMania. With that said, "Overkill" Hill's fight might be a title-eliminator fight depending on the results.

Another potential title-eliminator in the card is a bout between rising star Alexa Grasso and Felice "Lil Bulldog" Herrig. Potential fight of the night candidate fight between Abel "Killa" Trujillo and lightweight stand-out James Vick tops off a stacked Fight Night card.
