Senator Jeff Session's Confirmation For Attorney General Delayed By Democrats

By

The actions of the Democrats drew the line of bitterness and being sour losers. They vented their frustrations on Senator Jeff Sessions' confirmation as US Attorney General. During the Committee hearing in the judiciary, the Democrats took advantage of the 2-hour trick. The trick aims to disallow hearings after 2 PM.

Lengthy speeches and rhetoric delivered by the Democrats did the trick to achieving their delaying tactics. A delivery spat out by Senator Mazie Hirona (D) Hawaii), claimed 23 minutes when he included Reagan's speech in his recitation. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer mentioned in his Tweet that they need answers regarding executive orders from Senator Sessions in order for the judiciary committee to proceed, in a report filed by The New York Post.

Sen Chuck Grassley (R) Iowa, Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, emphasized the need to position an attorney general and hinted on the termination of Yates. The post should be manned so he could defend the executive order placed upon him. Grassley sat the confirmation the next day at 10:30 AM.

According to the Washington Post, it is not only in the attorney general's cabinet confirmation that these delays are taking place. It is prevalent in most cabinet positions. Republicans under the Trump banner is now accusing the democrats of hindering the formation of Trump's administration.

The Democrats in their first tactic, were a no-show on the senate committee hearing to cast two votes for Tom Price(R) Iowa as Secretary of Health and Human Services and for Steve Mnuchin to head the Department of Treasury. Both are Trump's nominees. Then came Senator Jeff Session's delay (R) Alabama. Diane Feinstein (D), California lambasted Sessions of loss of confidence telling him that he is not worthy to run the attorney general's office, the Telegraph reported.

The Republicans are very disappointed with what is transpiring in the committee hearings with all the delays and tricks the Democrats are employing. Senator Orrin Hatch (R) Utah, denounced such actions by the democrats.
