‘Avengers Infinity War’ Spoilers & Update: ‘Mantis of Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ Confirmed

By

The most-anticipated Marvel film is ever expanding as "Avengers: Infinity War" is confirmed to have Mantis from "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." Played by Pom Klementieff, Mantis teased the audience about her inclusion on the movie franchise.

The actress first posted on Instagram an image of The Avengers # 123 earlier this month where Thor, Scarlet Witch, Iron Man, Vision, and Black Panther are surrounding Mantis. The post made rumours that the new "Guardians of the Galaxy" character might be included on the "Avengers" roster, Comicbook reports.

Recently, Klementieff posted another photo on Instagram where she is wearing a beanie with the Infinity War logo, thus telling that she will really be joining Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Groot, Nebula, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and Doctor Strange among others confirmed, for the third instalment of the "Avengers" movie.

But who is Mantis? Looking at the trailer of "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" she seems to be just a comedic add-on in the movie. However, for her being in the next "Avengers" franchise, we could imply that Mantis will do more in the second instalment of "Guardians of the Galaxy."

In the comic books, Mantis is a half-German, half-Vietnamese superhero skilled in martial arts and has telepathic abilities. On the movie trailer, she can read the desires of a person by simply touching them. She is not a main character in the Marvel comic universe, but she is part of the Avengers which means she will be something more than what we could expect, as mentioned by Screencrush.

As for the "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," the gang will traverse through the universe as they will try to learn about Peter Quill's real parents. The movie will also feature the developing relationship between Star-Lord and Gamora. And of course, fans are looking forward to the "baby Groot" that everyone loves.
