"The Big Bang Theory" star Simon Helberg made a political message for President Donald Trump at the Screen Actors Guild Awards Red Carpet. He was with his wife, Jocelyn Town during the event.
In a report from Aol, Helberg had a sign with the words "refugees welcome" written. Together with Helberg is his wife, Towne who also had a statement written on her chest with the words "let them in." The couple made this statement as apolitical message.
The statement that the couple is indicating is to oppose Donald Trump's immigration ban. It is reported that the president issued the latest executive order that bans immigrants from a list of Muslim countries.
In the meantime, "The Big Bang Theory has been nominated for outstanding performance in a comedy series at the SAG Awards. Aside from the series that star Helberg, the winners for the awards have already been announced during the night and most of the actors gave out their own political statements about the immigration ban.
According to a report in CNN, Ashton Kutcher who presented the award to Julia Louis- Dreyfus also made a political statement opposing the ban. "You are a part of the fabric of who we are. And we love you and we welcome you." Kutcher said.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus won an award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a comedy series. This award has been for the show "Veep." She also included a statement in her acceptance speech about immigrants.
She indicated in her speech that she is the daughter of an immigrant that went away from France when it was occupied by the Nazis. She mentioned in her speech that the immigrant ban in un-American. Most of the actors in the awards night had their opportunity to state their thoughts on the immigrant ban that happened over the weekend.
