George Orwell's classic dystopian novel "1984" is back on the bestseller list. In fact, it has gone up to the number two slot on Amazon's best selling list.

According to a report in Fortune, the novel's rose to popularity again after Kellyanne Conway defended Sean Spicer. It can be recalled that Sean Spicer's statement was about the falsehood of the crowd size at the Donald Trump inauguration.

People on social media have likened the event to "News Speak" found in "1984." It is indicated in the report that it is not the first time for the novel to spike its popularity. It also went on the bestseller list in 2013. This was after NSA documents were leaked by Edward Snowden comparing the event to "Big Brother."

When Kellyanne Conway was interviewed regarding Sean Spicer's statement on the crowd size during the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, she mentioned that "alternative facts" has been presented. The statement has been connected to George Orwell's phrase by a CNN's reliable source.

A report in The Guardian indicates that as of Tuesday, the novel "1984" is in the top six bestselling book on Amazon. George Orwell's novel has been published in 1949 and is making it to the top recently. The book tells of a superstate that has control over the people and those that have independent thought are persecuted.

Meanwhile, PBS Newshour reports that Penguin Publishing has recently printed more copies of "1984" due to its demand. The novel tells of the Winston Smith who works for the propaganda department of the state. The department is called "The Ministry of Truth" and facts are discarded especially when they are inconvenient to the state.

For Orwell, facts can be altered and documents can be rewritten under certain governments. The novel will continue to gain its popularity as many people are eager to read on about the government's reality.
