Ryan Reynolds Deserves Oscar Nomination For ‘Deadpool’, Says Jake Gylenhaal

Jake Gylenhaal states that Ryan Reynolds deserves an Oscar nomination for "Deadpool." The comic book movie did not get any nominations for the Academy Awards despite getting two nods from the Golden Globe.

According to a Game Spot report, Gylenhaal states that Reynolds had been brilliant in "Deadpool." He also shares that even if it is a comic book movie, Reynolds deserves the nominations. Gylenhaal also adds that no other actor can do Deadpool than Reynolds.

Gylenhaal and Reynolds are set to pair in a new film titled "Life." "Deadpool" is a comic book movie and will soon have its sequel that is directed by David Leitch who also directed "John Wick." The list of Oscar nominations has been revealed and "Deadpool" had been snubbed and did not get any.

Deadpool had its share of nominations from different categories, according to a report in Screen Rant. It has been nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay from the Writer's Guild. The PGA Awards gave the film a Best Picture nomination. The director of the film, Tim Miller has been nominated for the Best First Time Director by the DGA and Reynolds got a nomination for Best Actor at the Golden Globe.

Neither Reynolds nor the film land any nomination for the Oscars. Gylenhaal has been pointing out how Reynolds did a great job in the execution of the role of Deadpool. In the meantime, even if Reynolds has not received any nominations for this year's Oscars, the film's success can still be celebrated.

Meanwhile, Collider reports that "Life" is an upcoming space movie that is starred by Gylenhaal and Reynolds. The story revolves around the six crew members of the International Space Station. They encounter the first evidence of a life on Mars.

Included in the film are Rebecca Ferguson, Olga Dihovichnaya, Hiroyuki Sanada and Ariyon Bakare. "Life" is directed by Daniel Espinosa.
