NBA News: Carmelo Anthony’s Urgency To Win Title May Land Him To New Team

By

One of the most talented draft classes gave the NBA LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and Carmelo Anthony. Anthony, is the only one of the four that has not yet won an NBA title. That is partly because James, Wade and Bosh all played on the same team to win a title, which is Anthony feels a deeper sense of urgency to win a title.

When asked about the comments LeBron James made about not being able to wait anymore to win, Anthony said "I'm in a different situation than him. He's won. He's just coming off a championship." As per ABC News, LeBron James said "I just know me, personally, I don't got no time to waste. I'll be 33 [next] winter and I ain't got time to waste." This clearly speaks about just how badly these NBA Superstars want to win, but would it mean Anthony would want to join his buddy LeBron just like what Dwayne Wade did in Miami?

Carmelo Anthony expressed his thoughts on the matter, and as per CBS Sports, Melo had this to say "I do think he'd want me to play with him. I don't think he wouldn't." However, Anthony did say that playing in Cleveland is not on his mind right now, and rightfully so as he does not have any say in the matter.

As per Sportrac, Carmelo Anthony's contract will be in effect until the end of the 2018-19 season, which means he is staying with the Knicks, unless they decide to trade him. So now the question is not whether or not these two super stars want to play together, it is if their teams can somehow agree on a deal that will see this happening.

According to NBA sources, the Knicks already proposed a trade that would send Carmelo Anthony to the Cavs in exchange for All-Star forward, Kevin Love. The trade, however, was rejected by the Cavs. This could be because the Cavs are looking to sign or trade for a veteran point guard to back-up Kyrie Irving, as what LeBron has repeatedly expressed to their management. However, one takeaway from this is that the Knicks are looking for possible trade for Carmelo Anthony, and with the trade deadline nearing, a surprise move could be just around the corner.
