‘Rick and Morty’ Season 3 Release Date: Dan Harmon Admits Fault, Constant Fights With Justin Roiland

The adult swim series "Rick and Morty" Season 3 was indefinitely delayed, making fans wonder if there would be any third season at all. With this, Dan Harmon admits his fault and that he actually had constant fights with co-writer Justin Roiland over the series.

The promised airdate of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 was within 2016, but it never happened at all. The second season ended with Rick being held at the Intergalactic Federation Prison. Fans wanted to see the events that would transpire afterwards.

With the frustration, many started to bash story writers Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. At a certain point, Harmon got pissed off with the comments and said that writing a storyline for the likes of "Rick and Morty" isn't easy at it looks.

During the Sundance Film Festival, Dan Harmon admits his fault as to why the third season was further delayed without any release date. He regretfully but boldly said to the audience, "it's late because of us, it's because of me."

He said that as much as he and Roiland works for the "Rick and Morty" Season 3, the longer and longer it gets because of creativity struggles. As the series became a fan favorite over time, it became harder to think of a way to keep pleasing the audience, thus the writers somewhat suffers a deadlock of ideas.

Harmon also admits that he had constant fights with Justin Roiland. During the second season, he said that they didn't fight over anything - but Season 3 is when they experienced heated arguments over the series.

Up to date, it has been more than a year without a follow-up season for "Rick and Morty." The last time the series was aired was October 2015. However, despite the further delays of the series, it is quite reassuring that the third season is already on the works and was never cancelled.
