NBA Trade Talks: Cleveland Cavaliers Reject Proposal To Acquire Carmelo Anthony For Kevin Love

By

Cleveland Cavalier power forward Lebron James ranted in annoyance in their management office. His outburst came after they lost to the New Orleans Pelicans without Anthony Davis on the other side. He urged management to do something before the Cavs succumb to a deeper rut.

Lebron suggested an active line-up to capture a repeat championship. Perhaps, this is the response that the Cavs management would also like to pursue. We will never know, as the latest news arrival stating that the Cavs bluntly rejected the proposed Knicks Carmelo Anthony and Cavs Kevin Love swap. The proposed trade never materialised.

According to NBA.com, Kevin Love is obviously essential to the Cavalier's first place position in the East as of now. He was also instrumental in their Championship playoffs last year, which the Cavs won. Lebron asked for a point guard to assist him in plays, not a scoring forward like Carmelo. Anthony is one of the three players with a full no-trade clause in their contracts. The other two are Cleveland's Lebron James and Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki, as what NBA League sources told ESPN.

The Cavaliers need a seasoned point guard to execute plays for the team, and Carmelo Anthony is not the right guy for the post. Lebron and Carmelo are good friends. They talked about playing together someday, but it is not the time at this moment. Matthew Dellavedova left the Cavs as free agent status, and Lebron regretted that the Cleveland Cavalier Management allowed him to do so. Dellavedova is one seasoned playmaker that they could contend.

The Knicks management looked forward to the swap, hoping that the friendship between Lebron and Carmelo will follow it through. The rejection of the deal is as silly as it was and the swift rejection came as abrupt as well, said in a report in SB Nation.
