One of the Apple AirPods' unresolved problems has just been answered as the Cupertino-based firm has finally released the beta version of its iconic platform iOS 10.3.
9To5Mac reported that Apple has launched iOS 10.3 beta version for developers. Its most notable new feature was revealed to be the Find My AirPods. This is essentially the company's response to the universally-accepted issue of their freshly-released accessory — how to locate them when a user loses the precious pair.
The newest iOS 10.3 beta version's feature is developed to allow users find the slippery, cord-free earbuds. As such, the feature can be found right in the platform's Find My iPhone app. Now part of the Apple devices, the earbuds can be located through a use of Map via iCloud along with an iOS app. On the other hand, it should be noted though that as AirPods make use of a Bluetooth connectivity, the earbuds can only be found if it is within the same reach to that of other Apple devices.
Another feature of the beta version of iOS 10's Find My Airpods is it enables the user to play an alarm sound from the wireless earbuds. This will allow the user to locate the device with just an aid of its sound. Meanwhile, the user is given the ability to disable the sound on one of the earbuds which could come beneficial if he or she is only able to lose one.
Furthermore, iOS 10.3 in both beta and official versions will feature cricket scores via Siri for the Indian Premier League. It also includes refinements on CarPlay and other enhancements in other areas. The newest iOS version is also toting the new 3D Touch shortcut which can now be spotted on the Weather app icon in the Map's app section. This allows users to get hourly updates without the need to pull up the Weather app itself.
Apple's 10.3 beta version is expected to be around within a month or two. Its final version is slated to be released once the beta version's period ends.
