Jury resumes deliberations of Michael Dunn's fate in loud music murder trial

On Thursday, deliberations for the murder trial of a Florida native who was accused of killing a teenager, and injured others after a argument over loud music, CNN said in a report.

Prior to the scheduled 10AM call time, the jury initially requested the surveillance video from a Jacksonville gas station. The gas station was reportedly the location where Dunn shot 17 year-old Jordan Davis, which resulted to the latter's death. In the afternoon, the jury requested the flexible mannequin and dowels used to demonstrate the angles where the bullets fired from Dunn's gun had entered the teenager's body. Judge Russell Healey said that he will agree to the jury's request, but withdrew it after defense attorney Cory Strolla said the dowels in the dummy were repositioned, CNN said.

Dunn is currently facing five charges, which include three counts of attempted murder referring to the other teenage survivors, and a murder charge for Davis. State prosecutors claimed that Dunn opened fire on an SUV, of which Davis and his other teenage companions were on in November 2012.

According to the Duval County joint information center who handles the Dunn trial, a detailed public safety plan is already in place ahead of the verdict. CNN said that the Dunn case has been drawn parallels to the controversial trial of George Zimmerman, who also claimed self-defense. The news outlet said the the Dunn case also has racial overtones as Davis is black.

The Duval County statement read, "All contingencies have been planned for. We will not discuss the specifics of any security plan. We will continue to protect the rights of those who choose to peaceably demonstrate."

In closing arguments also on Wednesday, prosecutors pointed out the inconsistencies of the actions and words of Dunn, who had invoked the self-defense argument. Dunn's attorney, on the other hand, countered and said that the state did not provide proof that his client was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
