Dwayne Johnson To Star In ‘Black Adam’ Spinoff

By

Dwayne Johnson has been confirmed to star in his very own movie. New Line Cinema and DC Entertainment has just revealed that a "Black Adam" spinoff movie starring The Rock has been confirmed.

Johnson will also join the cast of "Shazam" as the movie protagonist "Black Adam" as announced by New Line Cinema in 2014 which was planned to be written by Darren Lemke. After The Rock's character has been confirmed, the studio decided to make a spinoff movie to introduce his character in a new film, Variety reports.

The report revealed that Johnson has been eyeing for "Black Adam's" character in the movie even before he got the offer, according to The Verge. The character is the arch nemesis of Shazam also known as Captain Marvel, which is the alter ego of Billy Batson. However, information as to who will write and direct the spinoff movie has not yet announced by New Line Cinema.

Meanwhile, Johnson has been spotted with his 15-year-old daughter Simone at the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night in Los Angeles. The Rock has been awarded as the "Favorite Premium Series Actor" for his role in HBO's "Ballers" during the event and before he went on stage to receive his award, he stood up and gave her daughter a kiss.

Johnson was also seen ribbing with his "Central Intelligence and "Jumanji" co-star Kevin Hart on stage. Hart was awarded as "Favorite Comedic Movie Actor" and thanked everyone on his speech except The Rock. He said that he does not thank the "Baywatch" star because he has lessened his talent ever since they met.

On the other hand, Johnson has been filming for HBO's "Ballers" Season 3 and is set to shoot for "Rampage" afterward. He is also part of the "Baywatch" and "Jumanji" sequel which is set to hit the movie theaters in December.
