Apple Introduces Major Updates To Music Making Softwares Logic Pro X, GarageBand

Apple has released major updates in the applications that aid music makers the most: professional editing software Logic Pro X for Mac and music creation software GarageBand for iOS. The powerful new features help enthusiasts turn into professionals.

Despite being in the middle of a monopolization lawsuit, the company does not seem to be laying back or disregarding its duties. Announcing major updates in the two aforementioned applications, the software displayed plenty of additional features as well as a redesigned interface.

The Alchemy creative synthesizer was added to GarageBand version 2.2 which runs on iOS devices. This feature was added to Logic Pro X in 2015 alongside a brand new sound browser which enables users to locate specific sounds and instruments with ease.

With more than a hundred and fifty Apple-designed patches, Alchemy boasts multiple genres spanning Rock, Pop, EDM and Hip Hop. By means of the Alchemy Transform Pad, users of GarageBand can make use of "expressive synth performances" now.

The Audio Recorder witnessed a redesigning and now enables users to add vocal effects to recording with a single tap. Other features include distortion, pitch correction and delay. In case the professional users felt like they were missing out, the interactive graphic visual EQ was added alongside other advanced audio processing tools specifically for them.

For Mac, the Logic Pro X has seen an update to version 10.3 with a refreshed interface and new features inclusive of Touch Bar support. The latter enables the Touch Bar on the MacBook Pro 2016 to be used in music editing. The Touch Bar also allows fast and easy access to navigation tools as well as Smart Controls. Additionally, it uses drum pads or a piano keyboard to play and record.

Another novel feature is the Track Alternatives addition which allows users to switch between as well as create playlists of varying edits and regions. The Selection-based Processing encourages users to apply third-party plug-ins or Logic on one or more regions of audio.

The recent price hikes have not shown any drop in the app store sales. The company's vice president of Applications Product Marketing said "Music has always been part of Apple's DNA, and we are excited to deliver yet another fun and powerful update to our music creation apps, GarageBand for iOS and Logic Pro X."

The iOS app GarageBand is granted free of cost for customers who make a new iOS device purchase. It can also be purchased directly from the iOS App Store.
