The Super Bowl 51 is to be held on Feb. 5, 2017, at home of Houston Texans, the NRG Stadium. Prior to the event, some interesting facts take place, including the loss of Dallas Cowboys which made the tickets price drop.
Dallas Cowboys was defeated by Green Bay Packers 34-31 in the NFC Divisional Round on Sunday night Jan. 15. This upsets many viewers who expect Tony Romo will bring the Cowboys to the Super Bowl.
As a result of the Cowboys' defeat, tickets for Super Bowl 51 dropped by 18 to 20 percent according to ESPN. The tickets which were previously sold at the price $4,195 on StubHub dropped to $3,349 after head coach Mike McCarthy's strategy was able to neutralize Dallas Cowboys offense.
Another interesting news is the selection of officials for the Super Bowl. NFL appointed Carl Cheffers as the head official for the event. Cheffers is the controversial referee who threw the controversial flag on Eric Fisher during in the AFC Divisional Round game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He ruled Fisher for holding, resulting to the two-point conversion by Kansas City Chiefs which should have tied the game but was reversed according to SB Nation. The Chiefs lost 16-18 and the Steelers will play the AFC Championship Round against New England Patriots on Jan. 22.
In the NFC, the Championship Round is to be held between Green Bay Packers against Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons defeated Seattle Seahawks 36-20 in the Divisional Round.
Lady Gaga will headline the halftime show of Super Bowl 51. She is currently rehearsing to deliver a different performance than any other halftime performance in Superbowl. She had a long discussion with her choreographer Richy Jackson to make such a dramatic entrance for the performance.
The 30-year-old singer was a national anthem singer in the Super Bowl 50 at the Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, California. Last year's Super Bowl was won by Denver Broncos 24-10 over Carolina Panthers.
