New Nokia 6 To Be Released For China Market First

By

After losing its dominance over the mobile phone industry and the failed venture into Windows OS devices, a Nokia Android phone will finally be available to the market. Earlier this year, Nokia announced that it would be releasing it first official Android powered smart phone, the Nokia 6. The phone is set to be available for purchase in the early months of 2017.

Nokia was initially sold to Microsoft which was why they sported Windows OS for a short period of time. However, they were not very successful in reviving the Nokia brand. Former Nokia staff then formed HMD Global Oy (HMD), which then purchased part of the Nokia phone business sold to Microsoft. They are now licensing the Nokia brand from Microsoft and are set to release the Nokia 6 in China.

The Nokia 6 sports some of the industries more premier features, such as a specially anodized aluminium body that is machined from a solid piece of 6000 series aluminium. The 55 minute machine process, 10 hour anodizing process and 5 polish sessions make the aluminium unibody of the Nokia 6 not only visually appealing, but also extremely sturdy. (Source: Slash Gear).

The Nokia 6 also sports a fingerprint scanner which would mainly be utilized for authenticating wireless payments, aside from unlocking the phone. Dual Dolby Atmos speakers, one by the earpiece and one at the bottom, aim to provide an enhanced auditory experience. The standard 64GB internal memory with expandable microSD card slot match the specs of even of the most premier phones with other manufacturers. Complete specs and features of the Nokia 6 can be found on GSM Arena.

The initial announcement made by HMD was that the Nokia 6 would be exclusively distributed to China by JD.com. Hopefully, the success of the device in the Chinese market would urge HMD to release the phone to the rest of the world. They certainly have a competitive device based on the specifications and features of the Nokia 6. We can only sit and wait to see what HMD will do.
