John Lewis Books Land On Amazon’s Bestseller List After Trump’s Tweets

By

Two of John Lewis' books have sold out, ranking the top on Amazon's bestseller list. His graphic novel trilogy entitled "March" ranked number one on Amazon while the individual volumes were fairly soaring in the list. His 2015 memoir, "Walking with the Wind" ranked number two.

Sales of the civil rights leader's books bounced up following his feud with President-elect Donald Trump. Lewis who questioned the legitimacy of Trump's victory, which Trump reportedly responded to, tweeting that the 16-term Georgia representative "all talk" and "no action". He continued to say that the Democratic Congressman should spend time on fixing and helping his district instead.

The attack on the civil rights activist stirred up several Democrats to come to Lewis' defense. They addressed his civil rights legacy and his long time record in Congress that deserves due respect. Activists in other states were also outraged by Trump's criticism of Lewis.

"John has integrity. He never would have said it if he didn't have reason to believe it," said a 92-year-old activist, C.T. Vivian, who was a dear friend and advisor to Martin Luther King. Democrats who supported Lewis were largely the reason his books sales spiked on Saturday and early Sunday.

On Sunday afternoon, the March trilogy collection remained as Amazon's bestseller in the top selling book list. "Walking with the Wind: A Memoir of the Movement" filled the third spot. Lewis received the National Book Award for the third book in the March trilogy this past November.

This isn't the first that feuding with Trump is seen to be fruitful and advantageous for victims of the President-elect's attacks. Even Fox News anchor, Megyn Kelly published a memoir of her public feud with Trump during the campaigns.
