Many people have been expecting the release of iOS 10.2 jailbreak for a long time. The only jailbreak tool made available for now is Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak, created by Luca Todesco.
The tool is capable of freeing up 64-bit devices that are running in iOS 10.0.x to 10.1.1. However, only few can use the tool as it is still undergoing beta testing.
About Luda Todesco
Todesco, an Italian developer and security researcher, is one of the pioneers of the jailbreak community. He is well-known for his dedication in exploiting and finding weak points in the iOS platform in order to create jailbreaks.
According to a series of tweets by Todesco, he is planning on making a possible release of iOS 10.2 jailbreak soon, implying of the possibility of an iOS 10.2 jailbreak. Nevertheless, iPhone 7 is not included in the lineup. In his tweets, Todesco also reminded Apple users who want to jailbreak their devices to avoid the iOS 10.2.1 update the moment it's launched by Apple, and to save the SHSH2 blobs for iOS 10.2.
He recommended them to save the SHSH2 blobs for iOS 10.2 so that they will be able to downgrade or upgrade the firmware through Prometheus.
iPhone 7 Not Included in the Line Up
In a recent tweet, Todesco asserted that saving SHSH2 blobs is mandatory because Apple's operating system is highly vulnerable towards hacking systems, especially now that he is working on an iOS 10.2 jailbreak in order to find ways to crack through Apple's wall.
"My fix for the issues in the 10.1 jailbreak will be to add support to 10.2. It will however not work on iPhone 7 on 10.2, just 10 and 10.1," said Todesco.
While everyone else is busy waiting for the jailbreak to happen, it is worth reminding that jailbreaking can bring serious consequences to users' iPhone. Apple's PR department once told Cult of Mac, "the vast majority of customers do not jailbreak their iPhones as this can violate the warranty and can cause the iPhone to become unstable and not work reliably."
