The Big Bang Theory is already midway through its 10th season after debuting in 2007. The initial cast of 5 with Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar grew to help the show progress. However, they also just recently lost a supporting cast member.
As per Movie Pilots report, Carol Ann Susi, who played the voice of Howard's (Simon Helberg) Mother, passed away on November 2014 after a battle with Cancer. Although her character never got to see actual screen time through 8 seasons, Howard's mother became as important as other characters.
Another character that was introduced is Melissa Rauch who plays Bernadette. She ends up marrying Howard and gets pregnant. In the mid-season finale of the 10th season, Bernadette gives birth to their child, who they decide to name after Howard's mother after learning they would have a daughter.
Howard then exclaims that her mother hated the name "Debbie" which makes things a little awkward. However, it turns emotional as Simon Helberg leads a tribute to the late Carol Ann Susi. "It sucks that she's not here. She would've been the best grandma. I was twenty years old before I found out that Tootsie Rolls weren't naturally warm."
Melissa Rauch chimes in while impersonating the voice of Howard's mother one more time, saying: "Are you a Milky Way or a Snickers girl?" to their new daughter. This is meant to emulate the time when she said she first met Howards' mother and was asked the same question. (Source: Scattered Quotes)
As per CBS, the couple ended up naming their baby "Halley", after Halley's Comet, but they were still able to pay tribute to Carol Ann Susi. It may have took 2 years since her death, but the show finally paid tribute to a cast member who may not have appeared on screen, but will surely be missed by the rest of the cast and all the fans across the world.
