Justin Bieber warned to stay away from Selena Gomez

Like all good mothers, Selena Gomez's mother Mandy plays a great role in the shaping of her superstar daughter's grooming and well-being.

Selena revealed that she took a professional hiatus in late 2016 where she cut herself off from the public and even contacts. The singer explained in the Thrive Global Questionnaire that the break was for her to "take care of herself".

The hiatus included checking into rehab and explained the move to her followers and fans by saying "I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways". According to the singer she experienced "anxiety, panic attacks, and depression".

During her timeout, Selena stayed away from her ex, Justin Bieber, and her mother was there to ensure it. Mandy reached out to the "Baby" crooner and asked him to stay away from her daughter and not contact her in any way, stated The Hollywood Gossip.

Selena Gomez's family felt that the singer would heal and progress better if her ex stayed away from her. Additionally, they believe that Justin Bieber has "gotten under her skin" and eventually "affected her in a deeply negative way".

Sources claim that she would excessively stalk Bieber on social media outlets and that her "addiction" to the Biebs would take a toll on her. Remember when the pair were the vision of healthy and stable young couples?

Selena marked the end of her hiatus with a glamorous appearance at the 2016 American Music Awards where she gave a heart-touching speech explaining her state in the past few months.

The "Same Old Love" songstress has since been improving rapidly and was recently spotted enjoying a romantic dinner with The Weeknd. The pair was thoroughly enjoying themselves and stayed at the dinner for three hours, completely secluded from the rest of the diners.

It's a relief that the singer's mental health is improving and that she has left her dark days behind.
