Donald Trump has blasted new "Celebrity Apprentice" host Arnold Schwarzenegger as the show has seen garnering poor ratings numbers since the "Terminator" took over the hosting reigns.
The Republican president-elect said that the former governor of California got "swamped (or destroyed) by comparison. He went on to dub himself as a "ratings machine" after the release of the latest season's low ratings, according to the New York Daily News.
The incoming President of the United States didn't stop there, as he added "So much for being a movie star-and that was season 1 compared to season 14. Now compare him to my season 1. But who cares, he supported Kasich & Hillary."
In response, Schwarzenegger made his own dig towards the former host by quoting Trump's tweet by saying that the people's work is "more important" than the show itself. He then wished the President-elect "the best of luck" and hopes that he will "work for ALL of the American people as aggressively as you worked for your ratings," according to BBC News.
The new season of the "New Celebrity Apprentice" premiered after New Year's Day on NBC. It premiered with just a total of 4.93 million viewers with a rating of 1.3 in the 18 to 49 demographic based on the preliminary ratings from Nielsen. The ratings were down to 43 percent from the last premiere back in 2015.
The show had faced stiff competition from other shows from other networks such as ESPN's "Rose Bowl," which went into overtime going beyond its allotted hour, and the beginning of the latest season of ABC's "The Bachelor," according to Variety.
Schwarzenegger replaced Trump as the host of "Celebrity Apprentice" after 14 seasons. Under his helm, he's replaced the President-elect's signature catchphrase "You're fired," with "You're terminated," a reference to the character he played in the "Terminator" film franchise.
Trump still serves as the show's executive producer, adding that he has a "big stake in it" alongside Mark Burnett. However, he asserted that he will devote no time for the show. The second episode of the "New Celebrity Apprentice" will air on Monday on NBC.
