Melania Trump News: Fashion Designers Who Are Ready to Dress Incoming First Lady During Presidential Inauguration

By

After wearing a black Dolce & Gabbana dress at a New Year’s Eve party, Melania Trump has given rise to speculations that she is opting for these Italian designers to create her gown for the upcoming U.S. presidential inauguration.

Following her appearance at the NYE celebration, Stefano Gabbana himself shared his sentiments about the First Lady-in-waiting’s outfit, expressing his excitement on social media.

Mrs. Trump is famous for owning a large number of Dolce & Gabbana outfits, and was photographed several times donning such designs during her husband Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

Traditionally, the First Lady of the United States chooses an American designer not only for the inaugural celebration but also for the rest of her time in the White House, as pointed out by Daily Mail.

While Trump's presidential inauguration fashion plans are yet to be confirmed, philanthropist Jean Shafiroff opened up to New York Post and stated that both American and international designers are wanting to make creations for the First Lady-to-be.

Based on her poll from the New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, designers who have been vocal about their interest in dressing up the new First Lady for the presidential inauguration include Zac Posen, B. Michael America, Victor de Souza and Zang Toi.

On the other hand, Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford have already expressed their disapproval and said they will not work for Trump due to political differences.

A regular designer for outgoing First Lady Michelle Obama, Sophie Theallet has promised that she will not dress Trump when she moves in to the White House and takes the FOTUS title.

She already took to social media and penned a letter that was shared on Twitter in which she stated that her brand “will not participate in dressing or associating in any way with the next First Lady.”

Still, fashion designer Diane Von Furstenburg insists that the women of the White House should be treated equally and that the incoming First Lady should be given treatment that is similar to those of the previous ones.

Even Tommy Hilfiger is open to working with Trump, saying that “any designer should be proud” to make creations for the former model.
