Trump Tricks the Media by Crediting Himself for Creating More Jobs to the U.S

Though the company already rolled out its plan weeks ago on the creation of some 8,000 new jobs, US President Elect Donald Trump was reported "tricked" the media into crediting him to be the main reason, reported Daily Mail.

Trump stood in front of his Mar-A-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida on Wednesday said that Sprint - the telecommunications giant would bring 5,000 jobs that had been off-shored back to the US. According to him, another additional 3,000 jobs would be created by OneWeb.

Media outlets quickly ran with the news that Trump was bringing jobs back to the U.S., in some cases connecting it to the president-elect's intervention at Carrier several weeks ago that kept 800 jobs at the company from moving to Mexico, , according to The Huffington Post.

Meanwhile, Sprint acknowledge that the announcement by Trump were actually part of a larger deal which had been consummated with a Japanese billionaire (Masayoshi 'Masa' Son, founder and CEO of SoftBank) long before the election.

The company disclosed the statement on its website saying that the jobs would be in a variety of functions including customer care and sales team. The jobs were reported to be available by the end of 2017.

Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure said that they are excited to work with President-Elect Trump and his Administration to drive the economic growth and create more jobs.

Trump credited that Masa is a terrific guy. Trump press secretary Sean Spicer continued to push the claim that Trump should get credit by tweeting on Wednesday that Sprint CEO "calls to say because of him (Trump) they (Sprint) are moving over 5000 jobs to United States and will add more, even though there was no evident part of the president elect involved in the job creations

Earlier this week, the president-elect posted several tweets crediting himself for recent gains in consumer confidence and the value of the stock market.
