Nowadays, the internet has become the part and parcel of our daily life. With it, we are able to stay connected with a lot of people throughout the world. At the same time, we are able to know a lot of things about the outer world as well. We are able to complete our daily tasks and assignments with the help of the internet too.

The internet can be easily be counted as one of the most important things in our daily life. But there are some places on Earth where usage the internet is completely prohibited or under the government monitor. Today we shall look at top five countries that have internet sanctions.

1) North Korea

When it comes to the restricted internet, North Korea comes at the very top. There are about 4 percent of people in the country uses the internet. There are just 28 websites used in the country and all of those websites are under the control of the government.


2) Burma

Burma is very much strict with the internet too. The government will filter every email and will block all the sites which can expose human right violation. It also any website which disagrees with the government.


3) Cuba

The internet is not available everywhere in the country. It is always available only at the access points which are controlled by the government. The cost of the internet in the country also significantly high. When a person is active online then his activities will be monitored for all the time.


4) Saudi Arabia

There are about 400K websites blocked in Saudi Arabia. It is one of the most conservative countries in the world. If there are any sites which talk about political and social issues, it is banned immediately. The country is also very much intolerant about sites which are incompatible with the Islam.

5) Iran

The country is very much rigid with its internet policies. All the bloggers need to register at Ministry of Art & Culture. If there is anybody who expresses his thoughts against the government would be jailed and harassed.
