The former boyfriend of the popular female rapper, Nicki Minaj, filed a lawsuit against her following their breakup two years ago. The rapper's former beau claimed he suffered emotional distress.

Safaree Samuels stated that the Trinidadian-born American rapper allegedly inflicted him with physical and emotional abuse, Radio.com reported. The lawsuit news was revealed by Minaj on her Twitter. "Tweeted on the 5th that the 6th was my baby's bday. Celebrated on the 6th for his bday (publicly). Served w/a lawsuit on the 9th. Lol," the rapper tweeted.

"He's so miserable. You can't even celebrate your happiness anymore w/o being victimized. Miserable ppl refuse to move on w/their lives," the 33-year old singer added. Minaj posted a series of tweets regarding Safaree and how she was frustrated that Safaree still keep on sending her emails despite both she and her current boyfriend told him to cut it out.

Minaj and Safaree broke up in August 2014, ending their 12-year dating relationship. She is currently dating Meek Mill. Mirror reported that she accuses her ex-boyfriend of extorting her money following the lawsuit. The court filings came while the rapper claimed she's celebrating her current boyfriend's birthday.

"Tweeted on the 5th that the 6th was my baby's bday. Celebrated on the 6th for his bday (publicly). Served w/a lawsuit on the 9th. Lol. Two years later this poor excuse of a man is suing me & claiming to have been physically & emotionally abused. Lol. He's so miserable," Minaj tweeted. Samuels responded with an emotional instagram video of himself with paparazzi, then quickly removed the post, Fuse TV reported.

It is also not the first time Samuels sued Minaj. Last year, he was reportedly considering to file a lawsuit against her regarding unpaid royalties. He is also the executive producer on Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded and its follow-up, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded The Re-Up, as well as credited as A&R Coordinator on Minaj's most recent release,The Pinkprint.
