As per Ace Showbiz, Disney, Warner Bros. and Paramount were said to have received failing grades on GLAAD's annual LGBT report card, whereas Lionsgate, Sony, Universal and Fox were bestowed 'adequate' marks.
The report was quoted, "As recent successful animated films and TV programs have shown (Oscar-nominated ParaNorman, Cartoon Network's Steven Universe), LGBT people appearing in 'all-ages' programming - animated or not - is not the impossible notion it once was. LGBT people are already part of families and communities around the world, and films of all genres should reflect that."
It was further said that the group called on Disney to include gay characters in the up and coming Star Wars Episode VIII, given that sci-fi projects have the chance to fabricate their own universes filled with modern communities and can be flexible with it. The Star Wars film is said to be one of the perfect choices to do so.
