Singer Kesha rejected an alleged offer of settlement following her sexual assault lawsuit case. The singer stated on her social media that the offer would have let her release from her contract only if she apologizes and take back the sexual assault allegations.
Kesha posted a selfie photo and wrote a worrying message on Instagram saying, she received an offer that would resolved her case, Billboard reported. "So. I got offered my freedom IF I were to lie." The pop singer went on and wrote, "I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors. I will not take back the TRUTH. I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again."
The 29 year old singer had been on an ongoing legal battle with her producer, Lukasz Gottwald also known as Dr. Luke, whom the singer claims she was sexually assaulted by him in 2005. She is also accusing him of being physically and emotionally abusive towards her, according to 411 Mania. She filed a lawsuit against her alleged attacker in 2014.
Her producer, Gottwald said, she was fabricating lies in order for her to break out from her contract and sign to a better contract deal. It was not known if Gottwald along with his lawyers made the offer as the post does not contain the name of the defendant.
New York Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich rejected Kesha's preliminary injunction on February, which would let her make music outside her music recording label with Dr. Luke, a subsidiary of Sony Music, Hollywood Reporter reported. About two weeks ago, she filed an appeal.
On a statement issued by the producer, "The Court repeatedly stated Kesha is already free to record without Dr. Luke, and that she had not presented any facts supporting her claims."
Kesha's fans have rallied behind her and support her amid her legal battle, urging Sony Music, her label, to "Free Kesha." The case has barred her from recording music without the involvement of Dr. Luke/
