'Star Wars: Episode VIII' is an upcoming action-adventure and fantasy film intended as the eighth film in the main 'Star Wars' film series. Actor Adam Driver, who plays the villain Kylo Ren, raved about working under Rian Johnson as well as having a "great" script. Filming is currently taking place in Europe.
According to IGN, Driver expressed his enthusiasm over returning to work in director Rian Johnson's upcoming installment in the highly popular 'Star Wars' franchise. He said, "I can't wait to get on set, just because [Johnson's] so unassuming and intelligent and approachable. The script they've come up with is really great."
The 32-year old American actor portrayed the villainous Kylo Ren in J.J. Abrams' highly successful 'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens'. In the film, it was revealed that Kylo Ren was the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia began as a Jedi trainee under his uncle Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. However, he eventually turned to the dark side of the force to become an apprentice of Supreme Leader Snoke of the First Order.
According to the Independent, Driver was candid enough to compare working with Abrams and Johnson. He said, "Their temperaments are different. I feel like there was so many moving pieces in the first one - just trying to solve it and set the vocabulary for what it was. There's a lot of that anxiety is gone, because people have developed a language."
Driver also hinted that Johnson's follow-up will still feature an ongoing war despite refusing to elaborate more on details. Several speculations argued that the new plot would deal with Luke Skywalker's journey to restore the Jedi Order with Rey as his apprentice. Others insisted that Han Solo would make a surprise return to the series despite being presumed dead.
According to another article by Metro, principal photography for 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' is currently underway in several locations across Europe. Cast and crew members have shot on-location in Ireland, England as well as Dubrovnik in Croatia. Other filming locations include Mexico and Las Vegas.,
