Three first-grade girls from Alaska have allegedly planned to poison a fellow student using silica gel packets. Police have confirmed that the plot emerged due to an ongoing feud between the three girls and the other student.

In a report by ABC 6, the parents of the 32 first graders who were attending Winterberry Charter School in Anchorage, Alaska have been notified about the plotting in an email from the school's principal, Shanna Mall. The silica gel packets that the three girls planned to use were said to be from their lunch bags. They reportedly wanted to poison and kill the other student last week.

The silica gel packets are not toxic or poisonous but the students believe it was. Accordingly, one more classmate knew about the plan and notified the teacher about it. It is unclear though if the student who told the teacher was part of the plan or if he or she only overheard it, NBC News reported.

A school resource officer has interviewed the three girls who will face no charges due to their ages and zero casualty from the said incident. Police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said in a statement that they are not sure what they would criminally charge the first-graders with.

Additionally, there were no parents or adults involved in the planning. Castro claimed the school resource officer "had a very a serious talk with all of them."

School District Spokeswoman Heidi Embley said in a statement that administrators and school district psychologists also talked to the girls to see if they understood what they plotted to do. The resource officer said the plot was not just a prank as they really meant to hurt their classmate, The Guardian reported.

According to the police, the plot emerged from an ongoing feud between the girls and the other classmate but no other details about it were disclosed. The students have been suspended but it was not detailed how long the suspension is and what other punishments were given. They are set to return to class after their suspension.
