How to Install TWRP 3.0 Custom Recovery on Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is now supported by TWRP 3.0 custom recovery for Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. TWRP 3.0 comes better and improved with redefined design schemes and some technical enhancements.

Galaxy S7 Edge, being a new device in the market, is lucky enough to be supported by a custom recovery. TWRP 3.0 for Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will bring in wide opportunity for device owners to customize their phones according to their personal taste.

TeamWin developers crafted TWRP 3.0 to be easier to navigate through various sections. The design in particular aligns a lot more on Material Design making it a huge enhancement from the previous version of the custom recovery.

Before installing TWRP 3.0.0 custom recovery, the following reminders and prerequisites have to be noted first:

1. Unlock LG G3's bootloader.

2. Install LG PC Suite with full working ADB and Fastboot tool.

3. Install TWRP Recovery on the phone here.

4. Back up all necessary data here, including apps, SMS messages, contacts, call history, APN settings and more.

5. Device warranty will be voided.

Here's a step-by-step guide to install TWRP 3.0 to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge:

1. Configure ADB and Fastboot in the PC here.

2. Connect phone to PC using the USB cable.

3. Copy then paste downloaded ROM files to phone's memory or SD card.

4. Download TWRP (twrp-3.0.0-2-hima.img) here and copy/paste it in the android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory.

5. Go to Fastboot/Bootloader mode.

6. Type in: adb reboot bootloader.

7. Press Enter.

8. Wait for the driver to be installed.

9. Type in: fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.0-2-hima.img.

10. Press enter.

11. Once completed, select Recovery and enter Recovery mode.

12. Select "reboot system now" from the recovery menu.

13. Wait for TWRP to be installed.

The device should now have full support from TWRP 3.0 custom recovery.
