A French national arrested by the French authorities this week was suspected of plotting France attack. The suspect was believed to be connected to the ringleader of the Paris terror attacks that happened last year.

The arrested French man was identified as Reda Kriket, according to CNN. Kriket was found to be in advanced stage of plotting France attack when he was taken into custody in Boulogne-Billancourt, west of Paris,. The suspect was earlier found guilty of absentia and was jailed for 10 years over his association with the jihadist group. Kriket's connection with Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the alleged ringleader of the Paris attack was suspected as they were both convicted in July 2015.

The arrest of the man suspected of plotting France attack happened two days after the Brussel bombings that killed at least 31 people, Yahoo claims. After the Brussels attack, authorities claimed that they are aware of the several ISIS plots in all across Europe. In both attacks, the ISIS claimed responsibility over the bombings.

Since the Brussels attack, Belgium has lowered its alert to the second-highest level. However, the authorities and police are still on continuous guard over the streets. As of the beginning of the year, the French authorities have captured 75 people linked to terrorism.
