'Baywatch' original star Pamela Anderson trashed the new remake saying that she didn't want to make a cameo for Seth Gordon's film. However, she did don her iconic red swimsuit for a campaign shoot for the fashion brand Missguided.
According to Metro, Anderson refused to cameo in the upcoming reboot starring Zac Efron and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson saying that she didn't want to be the "old lady" in the film. She said, "They called me and asked me to be in it, but I haven't decided yet. I don't know. I don't like remakes of TV shows and I kind of want to leave it as is and be remembered for that... I don't know if I want to go on Baywatch and be, like, the old lady working at a counter somewhere."
Anderson portrayed the highly popular C.J. Parker in the original television series from the 1990s following the lives of Los Angeles County Lifeguards. She appeared in the 1995-1997 run of 'Baywatch' starring alongside David Hasselhoff as main protagonist Mitch Buchannon.
C.J. Parker was one of the most famous characters on the action drama series. She was also one of the longest serving characters who appeared in five seasons.
Anderson's character will be played by model and actress Kelly Rohrbach in the upcoming feature film adaptation. Rohrbach had minor roles in various television series including 'Rizzoli and Isles', 'Two and a Half Men' and 'The New Normal'. She is also famously known for being Oscar-awardee Leonardo DiCaprio's ex-girlfriend.
According to The Mirror, Rohrbach was seen on the filming set at Boca Raton beach in California with her co-stars Johnson, Efron, Priyanka Chopra and Alessandra Daddario. The film by Seth Gordon will also feature Hasselhoff in a cameo.
Despite her statements trashing the upcoming 'Baywatch' remake, Anderson donned her iconic red swimsuit in a fashion shoot for the brand Missguided's new campaign, according to The Sun. Photographs from the recent shoot showed the 48-year old actress on a pink furry rug looking just as seductive as she did back when she played C.J. She said, "I never felt beautiful, I always felt like a strange creature... Beauty to me is an internal heat, it's not skin deep - it is ageless and mystical."
Nitin Passi, CEO and Founder of the British fashion brand, said that the company aimed to "champion confidence and empower women" and employed Anderson as the new face for their campaign. The concept for the shoot was designed by freelance creative director Soki Mak, who previously worked as a stylist for several big names in the industry including Paris Hilton, Iggy Azalea and Ellie Goulding.
'Baywatch' is an upcoming comedy film directed by Seth Gordon. It is a remake of the popular action-drama television series of the same name. It is scheduled to be released on May 19, 2017 in the United States.
