Singer Kesha Appeals in an Attempt to Overturn Last Month's Court Ruling following the Dismissed Preliminary Injunction

Singer Kesha has filed an appeal to overturn last month's ruling, which tells her to continue to work with her recording label contract with Sony despite her claims of sexual assault against her producer, Dr, Luke. The singer's preliminary injunction to break off from her contract with the music recording agency was dismissed by the court last month.

According to Daily Mail, Kesha Rose Sebert, known as Kesha filed a motion to appeal in New York Supreme Court Monday in an attempt to overturn the decision on February. The court's ruling last month tells the singer needs to pursue her music career with her contract under Sony and with her alleged assaulter, her producer Lukasz Gottwald, known as Dr. Luke.

Kesha's representing lawyers filed the motion for the singer, which claims forcing her to work with her longtime producer who allegedly raped her is like enslavement. The singer's court documents states, "The Court's ruling requiring Kesha to work for Gottwald's companies, purportedly without his involvement, does just that. As the Court itself recognized, its slavery. You can't do that," E! Online quoted. Mark Geragos, Kesha's attorney also said, it is "irreparable harm' to the singer and her career."

On the hand other hand, Christine Lepera, producer Dr. Luke's representing lawyer released a statement in response to Kesha's appeal. According to People, they said, the singer was already free to record her music without her client. However, all her claims were false, and that her legal team keeps on "manufacturing even more false and outrageous claims". They added she would better spend her time on making music than "spin lies" in media.

Last month, Kesha was seen sobbing as judge denied a preliminary injunction that would have allowed her to record music outside of her six-album contract with Dr Luke. The 29 year old "Tick-tock" hit singer filed a lawsuit in October 2014 against her producer which claims he drugged and raped her.

She was controlled and psychologically abused from the time she moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to pursue her music career to her breakthrough in 2010 and beyond. On her continuing legal battle, celebrities including Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift have come out in support of Kesha since the ruling.
