Actor Mel Gibson's former wife, Oksana Grigorieva, is reportedly asking for $100,000 a month for child support. Gibson settled with the original $20,000 a month but she wants to have it increased.
In a report by Times of India, an insider revealed that Oksana, a 46-year-old singer, asked their family law judge to increase her child support as she needs to maintain their lifestyle consisting of vacations, travels, lodging, and other luxurious items, thus, the four hundred percent requested increase.
According to News.com.au, the Russian native and pianist claims that she needs more than $10,000 a month for security. It has not been specified, however, how her daughter with Gibson, six-year-old Lucia, is at risk and needs heavy security.
Gibson and Grigorieva parted ways in 2010 after the "Dark Secret" songstress accused her former husband of domestic abuse at their Malibu home. Gibson pleaded no contest on a misdemeanor battery charge.
As part of their settlement regarding the domestic abuse case, Grigorieva got to keep their house in Sherman Oaks, California as well as a $750,000 settlement on top of the monthly child support from the actor, The West Australian reported. The Sherman Oaks home is where Grigorieva and Lucia are living now but as soon as she turns 18 years old, the home will be sold and the proceeds will be turned into a trust fund for her.
Grigorieva was interviewed back in 2013 and she said that at the time when Gibson attacker her, she was afraid to ask for help "in the grip of blinding fear." She added that she wished she asked for someone else's help at that time but she chose not to, citing that oftentimes, victims of domestic violence "are made to feel as if it was their fault, when it was not." The two have also had restraining orders against each other ever since their daughter was born.
The two still share custody of their daughter. The latest demand of Grigorieva from Gibson will reportedly go to trial but a date has not been set yet.
Gibson has seven other children with another ex-wife.
