Samsung Galaxy S6 units of T-Mobile can now be updated to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop using a custom ROM. Looper custom ROM is up to give Galaxy S6 owners more great features and enhancements.
Looper can now update Samsung Galaxy S6 of T-Mobile with model number G920T to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The build has nothing fancy but promised to give improvements in battery performance. It is also deodexed, stable and fully rooted.
Before proceeding with the download and installation of Looper, be reminded of the following warnings and prerequisites:
1. Make sure that Samsung Galaxy S6 has model number G920T. Using other variant may cause severe damage to phone. To know the model number of the phone, go to Settings > About device or About phone.
2. Install TWRP Recovery on Galaxy S6 here.
3. Back up all necessary data here, including apps, SMS messages, contacts, call history, APN settings and more. Samsung KIES can also be used for backup.
4. Perform Dalvik Cache before proceeding to Recovery Mode.
5. Installing the any custom ROM induces risk of damaging device. Neither this site nor developers of the Looper will be held responsible for such damage.
Here's how to download and install Android 5.1.1 Looper to Samsung Galaxy S6 G920T:
1. Download Android 5.1.1 Looper on PC.
2. Connect phone to PC using the USB cable.
3. Copy then paste downloaded ROM to phone's memory or SD card.
4. Switch off phone and plug it out from the PC.
5. Go to Recovery Mode by press holding volume up, home and power buttons.
6. Choose 'Wipe' to delete of data and 'Swipe to Factory Reset'.
7. Go to main menu and choose 'Install'. Choose the copied ZIP file on the phone.
8. Choose 'Swipe to Confirm Flash'.
9. Wait for the installation to complete.
10. When phone gets into any boot loops or other troubles, tap 'Wipe cache/dalvik' button.
11. Choose 'Reboot System'.
To verify the update, go to Settings > About phone.
