CyanogenMod 13’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Upgrade via Snapshot Custom ROM Now Available on Several Devices

CyanogenMod 13 (CM13) has already released Snapshot in support to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow upgrade. The latest CM13 ROM is expected to be available on many devices which developers will be revealing in a couple of days.

Snapshot is the latest ROM developed by CyanogenMod 13 to support Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow updates on several devices. According to Team Android, the ROM is stable enough to be installed.

Snapshot is expected to come with all features that can be seen on Google Nexus devices along with a few of CM13's native features and bug fixes. The build also supports fingerprint and allows to create private content.

Below is the complete rundown of Snapshot's features and enhancements:

  • New controls for status bar icons
  • Inclusion of 'Status bar' in Settings menu
  • 'Advanced location settings' rename to 'Tri-state location'
  • 'Quick unlock' in Settings menu was removed for security reasons
  • New screen (AOSP) to show memory usage over a selected period of time
  • 'Enlarge first row' now accessible through leftmost QS panel while in edit mode
  • 'Show weather' now accessible through leftmost QS panel while in edit mode
  • 'Manual provisioning switch' in Settings menu was removed
  • Access to demo mode can be done by tapping 'Build date' in Settings menu thrice
  • 'Owner info' in Settings menu was removed
  • 'Messaging' app replaced MMS-CAF
  • 'Messaging' app features include quick reply
  • Privacy guard has been redesigned due to new permission model API of Marshmallow
  • For non-Google users, primary permission request for 'normal' security levelpermissions will be handled by CM13's package manager and Google's manager for those who opt for Googley bits
  • Ability to control fine-grained permissions via Privacy Guard in Settings menu > Privay
  • Qualcomm's Snapdragon camera shipped for select devices
  • Camera2 12.1 will be retain for those not supported with Snap app

Meanwhile, the impressive C-Apps is not yet available as of now. However, CM13 promised to bring this feature in the coming weeks.
