The University of California in Berkeley terminates its assistant coach on men's basketball team Monday amid sexual harassment allegations. The university came under fire for how the school lightly handling the claims of sexual harassment such as the previous incidents involving a professor and law school dean.
The termination proceeding of assistant coach Yann Hufnage has been initiated by the University of California men's basketball head coach, Cuonzo Martin citing a violation of the school's sexual harassment policy on Monday, according to the Washington Post. "Effective immediately, Hufnagel has been relieved of his duties pending the outcome of the termination process and will not be traveling with the team during its NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament run," the source quoted.
