Sony has just begun seeding the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow beta version to Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z2 devices. The Japanese giant highlighted several changes that will come with the official Marshmallow build.
Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z2 are set to receive the official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow anytime soon, as the beta version had been released. According to a video released by Sony recently, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come with a few notable changes from the original build and what had been planned by the company.
Some of the changes include new Camera 2.0.0 user interface. It will allow users to swipe between different camera modes-video and manual. Sliders are also present to adjust brightness, saturation, exposure, and more in real time.
Also, home launcher now has a search option on the app tray. The main feature had been ditched. STAMINA mode and options for adoptable storage were also ditched.
Other changes include granting permissions to apps, easier text editing and better sharing capabilities.
Marshmallow comes with build number 23.5.A.0.486, as it was first revealed on Xperia Z5 devices a month ago. The beta version had been lately released in Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z2 devices in Spain, Italy and the Netherlands.
Just to clear things out, Xperia Beta program is not similar to the Marshmallow Concept. The first program is a pre-release software which is expected to hit all handsets of Sony, while the second one is the experimental version of the software.
Over the last few weeks, the official Android 6.0.1 had been released to Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z5 series phones. It comes with security patches alongside the staple features of the software.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring in a ton of new features and improvements that will surely spice up Android experience. Some notable additions and improvements include Doze mode, Now on Tap, runtime permissions, fingerprint scanner support, a new notification area, Android Pay, simpler volume controls, RAM memory manager, screenshot options, microSD support, apps and settings backup, Google settings, USB Type-C support, Direct Share, app links, redesigned app drawer, and device optimizations.
