Samsung Galaxy S6 G920F Receives Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Upgrade via Pure Stock Extra Lite ROM: How to Install

Samsung Galaxy S6 can now be upgraded to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow using the custom ROM Pure Stock Extra Lite. This custom firmware features Samsung's own TouchWiz user interface which is almost similar to the original.

Samsung Galaxy S6 phones with model number G920F can now enjoy custom features and some under-the-hood tweaks and improvements for Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow by installing Pure Stock Extra Lite ROM. The build is pre-rooted and has custom kernel that make the device stable, fast and smooth.

Before proceeding with the download and installation of Pure Stock Extra Lite ROM, be reminded of the following warnings and prerequisites:

1. Make sure that Samsung Galaxy S6 has model number G920F. Using other variant may cause severe damage to phone. To know the model number of the phone, go to Settings > About device or About phone.

2. Install TWRP Recovery on Galaxy S6 here.

3. Back up all necessary data here, including apps, SMS messages, contacts, call history, APN settings and more. Samsung KIES can also be used for backup.

4. Connect the device to any PC using a USB driver. Download a driver here.

5. Installing the any custom ROM induces risk of damaging device. Neither this site nor developers of the CRISSCROSS will be held responsible for such damage.

Here's how to download and install Android 6.0.1 Pure Stock Extra Lite to Samsung Galaxy S6 G920F:

1. Down load Android 6.0.1 Pure Stock Extra Lite ROM here on PC.

2. Connect phone to PC using the USB cable.

3. Copy then paste downloaded ROM to phone's memory or SD card.

4. Switch off phone and plug it out from the PC.

5. Go to Recovery Mode by press holding volume up, home and power buttons.

6. Choose 'Wipe' to delete of data and 'Swipe to Factory Reset'.

7. Go to main menu and choose 'Install'. Choose the copied ZIP file on the phone.

8. Choose 'Swipe to Confirm Flash'.

9. Wait for the installation to complete.

10. When phone gets into any boot loops or other troubles, tap 'Wipe cache/dalvik' button.

11. Choose 'Reboot System'.

To verify the update, go to Settings > About phone.
